5 Stars Learning with Pooh, Tigger, and Roo!
My 4 year old sat down for the first time with this software at 3PM this past Saturday afternoon, and aside for a quick break for dinner (which was wolfed down because she wanted to get back to her “‘puter”), she played non-stop until past 8PM.

Learning her numbers, addition, phonics, grammar, following instructions (Tigger’s Treasure Hunt is great!)…you name it. I can’t think of a single problem with this software. There are even 3 levels of difficulty within most of the games.

Was not as impressed with the Mickey Mouse disk, but only one real quibble, really. On the spash screen where you can choose what game to play, the Pooh Bear disk says what each game is when you hover your mouse over it…so you know what it is even if you’re pre-reading. The Mickey Mouse game does not. The rest was just fine…and fine-tuning her listening/observation skills with the bell-hop game (hotel guests call the front desk asking for a bell-hop with blue pants, bowtie and no hat, and you have to choose the right bell-hop from what looks like the Goof Troop) is a WELL thought out game.

Am DEFinitely recommending it to anyone with a 3-5 year old.

5 Stars good software
my 2.5 years old love the phonic quest, and pooh kintergarden. Not so much for Micky kintergarden. He will spend hours on computer by himeself and I just enjoy some me time :)

5 Stars The most complete learning tool for kindergarden kids
This is the most complete learning tool for kindergarden kids. DON’T EJECT THE SOFTWARE FROM THE COMPUTER BEFORE EXITING THE GAME. If you do so then the software could make chages in your computer setting. However, for me if you look for a complete learning tool for your little todler this could be the best one. The cd that likes me more is the phonic quest cd.

4 Stars Lots of fun for my preschooler
We love 2 of the 3 CDs. The Phonics one is a bit dark (sorcers with mean faces, dragons, crystal balls, and pentagrams). Mickey Kindergarten and Pooh Kindergarten were really top notch. The Pooh Bear one is our favorite.

5 Stars multi-age study pack
Both my 5 year old granddaughter, Hannah and 3 year old granddaughter, Hallie enjoyed the bundle. There are several levels, so it was challenging and enjoyable for both. It was very helpful with the subjects that were being introduced in Hannah’s kindergarten class, such as the geometry.

1 Star Not Mac compatible
I received the CD ROM in the mail abut… it didn’t work because my computer is a Mac (Apple). On the product description it lists the many systems that it is compatible with including Macs (listed 2nd after Linux). Unfortunately this is not true. My little daughter was so disappointed when the program wouldn’t work on our Mac computer. Amazon must take care of putting the correct information over their products.

3 Stars Great product if only I could use it on my computer!
Disney Magic Artist Studio

Very disappointed when I received this. In the product details it said was compatible with ‘Mackintosh’ It does not work on my Apple Mac (Mac OS X Version 10.4.116) Gave the CD ROM to my mum as it works on her PC. My 3 year old daughter can now only play with it when she’s there. Actual product is fantastic - there is lots to do - one of the best on the market.

5 Stars Great for Kids
I bought this for my 5 year old daughter who is always looking for creative outlets. We have been impressed with all that she can do with this software.

1 Star Probably really great, but…
Just received the CD ROM in the mail and opened it up to put in my disk drive and… it didn’t work. Reason - because my computer is a Mac (Apple). On the product description it lists the many systems that it is compatible with including Macs (listed 2nd after Linux). Unfortunately this is not entirely true. I suppose if I install bootcamp and buy Windows Vista (or the like) I would be able to open the program.

Just a warning to Mac users about this problem. I have an older version that worked only on OS 9 classic but I don’t have classic anymore. My little son was so disappointed when the program wouldn’t work on our Mac computer. Still looking for a compatible version. Hope they come out with universal new version soon.

4 Stars Disney’s Magic Artist Deluxe
This software is at my daughter’s daycare and she loves this it. It provides a great deal of tools for children to create beautiful pictures and is reasonably priced. It does advertise that it works for Windows, Mac and Linux. This is untrue and only supports Windows. However, I was able to run it under Linux using WINE[...]

I definitely recommend this to any parent who is looking for an inexpensive and creative program for children to make really amazing artwork.

3 Stars There is plenty of room for 2010 improvements
First remark: a substantial portion of the “150 games” are in the solitaire section. So the choices are much more limited if you are not looking for solitaire. The graphics are pleasant, although the characters don’t match those on the manual (!), but they are amusing.

I find the cards a little tricky to read. Besides, it’s very confusing (and irritating) that the user cannot re-arrange the hands.

The character design may amuse for a few minutes, as will some of the comments from the other computer players (although sometimes they repeat twice the same thing!).

However, none of the backgrounds allow a better view of the cards (can’t see them flatter, or more spread out).

The major flaw for me (aside from the heavy bias on solitaire) is that I bought this to learn to play new games, so I would have liked to see a “play tutorial” commentary option (right now the commentaries are the kind “player A is thinking” “player B is choosing a card to play” …how exciting…) and help on what would be the better card to play and why. Or why was a particular card a bad card to play.

I have not played on line, it’s nice that it is offered.

It’s OK overall, and good fun for some games, but there is plenty of room for improvement in the 2010 version.

2 Stars 2009 Not So Great
There are no new players, some of the old favorite games are gone, and the new games are nothing special. The biggest issue is the cards. They are waaay too small and too close together. You can’t move or sort them in your hand, and they are too hard to manipulate. This is a major problem considering these are all card games. Disappointing.

1 Star Hoyle Card Game 2009
Hoyle Card Game 2009 I found to be very hard to use and the graphics are awful, the 2008 version is great so I thought the 2009 version would be better it isn’t. The cards are too small and I found it difficult to use. I was fortunate enough to be able to return the product for a refund. I would not recommend this program.

1 Star This game is a joke!!
I upgraded from the 2005 version of this program and I have to say, I wouldn’t do it again.

First of all, I had to reload the program maybe three times on my PC before it would stay loaded and still on occasion it stops working and unless I reboot won’t load.

Also, every other time I do open the program, it stops me to tell me there are updates. I took the first ones, but the last set downloads about half way and then quits and tells me to go to the website to get the updates. It is saying there are 102 updates? Geesh, you would think they would get the program ready to release rather than release it and let the consumer do all the work!!

If I had a choice, I’d not buy this one, it’s a real pain in the neck imho.

1 Star BIG Disappointment
Hoyle Card Games 2003 is played everyday on our Windows XP home computers but my daughter’s new Vista laptop will not recognise the 2003 version. I bought the 2009 thinking I would surprise her. When we tried to play the games on our computers it is complete disaster. Nothing seemed to work very will and as mentioned before, the upgrade stopped mid download.
