Or do you need the Gamecube controller? I want to go out and buy a Nintendo Wii and I have a ton of Gamecube games. I wasn’t sure if you could use the Classic contoller to play Gamecube games or do I need the GC contoller to play?

Classic controller = classic games only. The gamecube games need a gamecube controller, however the gamecube controller can be used as a classic controller to play Console games.

You need a GameCube controller to play the GC games because of the little joystick.
