Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 both have the same resolution which support high defintion 1080p, However Playstation 3 has the advantage since it has a blu-ray dvd player built into the console which you will be able to watch high defintion movies.
Games that are exclusive for the PS3 have better graphics then xbox 360 exclusives, but games that are released for both consoles have just about the same graphics.
If it is an exclusive ps3 vs exclusive xbox 360 game then yes and multiplatform games are the same
