depends – basically there are 2 possibilities
A. it’s a zip file (indicated by the zipper in the side of the icon)
B. it’s from thesims2.com
for possibility A, right click and choose extract all. go through the wizard and finish. note: when it says all, it doesnt mean all the zip files, just all the content in THAT file, so you will have to go one by one *will take a while*
for possibility B, just double click the icon (should be a blue thing with a white sim/person) click ok and it should show up in your game
