I have the money and I can trade in my PS2 and some games but they won’t let me because they think that video games are just a waste of time. This may be true, but they are still fun. How do I convince my parents to let me buy it?

Try promising for every hour you spend on the PS3 you’ll do something “positive”. My parents want me to read the newspaper, study some school work, practice my soccer or help my brothers with their homework. Whatever your parents consider “positive”.
well, the PS3 comes with a study called, Folding at Home something. it a human study of how video games influence people’s minds in a positive way. its a study being conducted by some university.
look it up..
Convince them that it’s not only games, it has internet (that they can modify what you view), it has a blue-ray player so they can watch movies they want with sharper image, it stores family vacation photos and videos, and it’s a way to meet new people and make new friends.
Although half that stuff may not be true, it’s what they want to hear, and even if thats the reason they let you get one, they probably will forget about it and won’t block the internet or use it at all.
Good luck,

built in blu ray player for the whole family to enjoy. And Folding at home program goes towards cancer research.
try and tell them that there are educational games for it, i mean come on there has to be at least one. I also went without T.V. for two months to get my nintendo ds, but its really old now.
