I have a vista desktop and an xbox 360. I dont have a modem/router in my house and use my Sprint Card for wireless conection (due to the location of my house we cannot recieve high speed). I have an ethernet cable.

well yea u can but only if u can use your laptop as a modem or router. if u can’t, u need to buy a modem/router. also if u can connect your sprint card to your laptop and make internet connection all around your house, u can connect to xbox live. u don’t need high speed b u need moderate speed
In order to connect the two you don’t need to be connected to the internet but the two must be networked between a router. It doesn’t matter if its wireless or wired.

I believe you need to have a wired connection to use it.
