hey
i play a similar game to WoW
its called Talismon Online
another one i also play is called Shaiya
both of them are excellent games
hoped that helped
Guild Wars has comparible graphics to WoW and has no subscription along with it, but it is not as in-depth as WoW.
Everquest has great graphics as well, but they are more ‘realistic’ than ‘cartoony’ as WoW is. Everquest does have a subscription fee, but is just as in-depth and as great a game as WoW.
I would suggest either if you are looking for an alternative to WoW.
I play Aion in beta right now and though the classes are similar, the gameplay is slightly off. Still not sure if I like the change from WOW to AION. The PVP is totally different, but kinda fun, and the start of the game is a little confusing.
At lvl 10 it’s kinda the same as WOW where you put in talent points in your chosen tree, but you choose a specific tree in AION and cannot veer from it at all.
Graphics are much better, it’s very pretty and makes you feel like you are right in the midst of it all.
I haven’t yet found another game like WOW that is really similar in gameplay, but would love to, so if you do find one, send me a line and let me know what it is.
Take care and good luck!
WoW = king of all
sorry you wont find one like it, idc what other people say no other game can compare with the armor, skill,s professions, DUNGEONS, their servers especially, most of the people that play now are very cool and nice, the only game i know that actually has amazing graphics and pretty good classes/combat is Aion. It is not out yet but, i was on the Locked beta (where only game testers FROM the creators of the game can play and some other special people) the closed beta’s 1 2 and 3.
Lord of the Rings Online is nice but the graphics are different. I am playing it now since I’ve quit WoW but I’d say WoW’s graphics are nicer. I guess I’m just spoiled but LOTRO’s palette is a lot more muted and they are missing the amazing level of detail that WoW has achieved.
LOTRO’s UI isn’t as intuitive as WoW. It’s really sad considering that I really do like the quest system and most of the game. On a positive note, so far the people are nicer in general in LOTRO especially if you choose a RP server.
I have seen some of the screenies for Aeon and it does look awesome. I’m very interested in that as well as KOTOR online when it is released.
There is a game that is quite similar to wow (Its not out yet however) Its called Aion. Its basically the same things as wow but some things are changed. First off you need to chose a Main class (I just call it that) then at level 10 you can slip off into a side class. At level ten you can also get wings with a 1 minute flight timer, its 2 minutes at normal, but with the CE edition you get extra 40+ seconds. They can be upgraded through pvp ranks all I know of. You can also get titles in Aion for doing certain quests, or reputation (just like wow) and they give you stat bonuses.
For proffesions I haven’t much info on, but you can basically have mining/herbing without even going to a trainer to get it. Theres a chance to fail to gather/craft things too, and once in a while you get a bonus for crafting something (something like double the stat bonuses). You can dye your armor and even copy armor appearances. Lets say you got a lvl 20 armor that has a really nifty design, well you can copy that on your level 50 armor. (Level 50 is the current level cap at the moment).
You can do combos with certain spells that give off better effects then without, (Uncofirmed by me). The character customization is amazing, you can create a dwarf, a troll, a orc, a human, or anything else basically BUT you have to chose one of the factions. Elyos (Alliance), Asmodian (Horde). You can really customize the crap out of your character. There is weather and the graphics are astonishing. You actually put an impact on the enviorment (If you ever decide to read quest text, you have your own little story, and a quest can change that to a different effect, but with the SAME initial story).
I’ll give you the basic rundown on class system
Warrior Gladiator(Warrior/Ret Paladin)
Templar (Holy/Prot Paladin)
Scout Ranger (Hunter)
Assassin (Rogue)
Mages Sorcerer (Mage)
Spiritmaster (Elemental Shaman /w Pets)
Priests Cleric (Holy Preist)
Chanter (Not sure)
Basic Storyline (Lore)
In AION, players must choose a side between two warring factions: the Elyos or the Asmodians. Once their world was whole; a perfect union joined at the center by The Tower of Eternity. When a great catastrophe shattered The Tower of Eternity, it split the world into two halves – and awoke the Balaur, a warring race exiled within the Abyss. The Balaur now seek revenge on both of these new worlds, sparking an epic conflict. The conflict between those 3 races is about Aether, a substance needed for flying, and the Abyss is the only region where you can find this material in huge quantities. The part you play, the side you choose and the decisions you make will help determine the ultimate fate of AION. The American Aion website also features lore extracts from the perspective of the Elyos and Asmodians.
Key Features
* Interactive gameplay systems
The actions of each faction on every individual server will eventually trigger consequences, which will then change the server’s live environment. This should lead to differentiation between all realms. (Some have suggested this system will be based, to an extent, off Guild Wars).
* PvPvE (Player vs Player vs Environment)
Aion: The Tower of Eternity features an evolving conflict system, which manages the complex relationships and alliances between realms, races and guilds. The system also takes into account a third NPC faction, the Balaur, who may act as the enemy – or the ally – of players in various situations. Some players have noted from the Korean Betas that the Balaur AI system is somewhat lacking, NCSoft however appears to be working on this.
* Free flying and flying combat
Take to the skies and soar over the landscape, with wings that allow your character to access remote areas, travel to different parts of the world – and to engage enemies in aerial combat!
* Beautiful and detailed graphics
Created using a modified version of the Crytek engine (as used in Far Cry), AION: The Tower of Eternity is the most graphically beautiful MMORPG yet released. Astounding levels of detail on characters and in environments immerse you in the world of AION. There is however a common misconception that Aion will be running off the same engine as Crysis and therefore those who struggled to play it shouldn’t waste their time with Aion. However whilst Aion will be running off the CryEngine Crysis was created with the CryEngine 2 . See this if confused. http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f134/b…
Differences between Elyos and Asmodians
* Wing and Amour styles are different
* Both races have developed their own unique languages, this effectively stops all communication between the races in-game.
* The opposite faction is considered your sworn enemy, this stops all grouping/questing with them.
actually they just released this new game called: Runes of Magic. Its free of charge to join and all you have to do is download it from their website.
there are much similarities with WoW in terms of gameplay and graphics.
if you want a stunning game that’s more of PvP of looks better than WoW there is game being released called Darkfall. you can check that out too.
The closest I think would be Warhammer Online, but the player base for that game has shrunk quite a bit. Many of the people who played it stopped and went back to WoW.
So if you’re looking to start, be wary that the game’s lifespan may not last very long. It’s better to stick with MMORPGs that have a clear-cut future, like WoW.
Runes of Magic is similar, it’s fairly new as it just came out in early March…similar game play…UI…most different in it is that RoM has dual classes like priest/mage for example. I’ve played it, it’s free and it seems pretty interesting.
Happy Gaming!
theres alot of nice games like wow but my favourite 2 are warhammer online age of reckoning (war), and lord of the rings online (lotro).
there really nice the graphics are amazing and there is a big variety of classes!!!!!
hope i helped!!!
I agree that Guild Wars is similar.
Lord of the Rings: Online is also fairly close in graphics, though prettier on the high end, and tremendously close in gameplay.
How dare anyone says Aion will be like WoW. Aion pvp sucks. Aion is WAY to realistic looking. Aion is going to an EPIC FAIL…you know, like the kind you see on the internet when a kid jumps onto an excersize ball.
It looks like that the lotro is very like wiht WOW ,you can go to http://www.usfine.com to have a look and try to play it .I think you should find one best game to play!
Perfect World International i known as the Chinese Wow. try it. but i decent graphic card is needed. it completely free
Well Blizzard The Company Make Other MMORPG’s, Warcraft III For Example, Try EVERQUEST 2. It Doesnt Look Loads Like it But Its Really Good Apparently.
Guild Wars, you can buy it at your local Wal-Mart, K-mart, Target, and etc.. It is a free to play game with graphics better than WOW but with better gameplay
Why would you want to play something that looks like wow while you can actually play wow?
yah wow it’s self and whats the point of typing in WoW (world of warcraft) completely defeats the purpose of using WoW
i heard knights online is alot like WOW but im not too sure myself, more of a runescape guy
