It sometimes lags during gameplay, but mostly on the title screens. I checked the game disk and everything seems fine. I can almost never connect to a host online either. Is there any hope?

your internet connection or modem is slow then
throw it out your window and get a ps3 or xbox 360.
I think you mean ps3, I am pretty sure there is no such thing as a ps2
