Dude, that’s what the Virtual Console is for. 8 bit games aren’t completely dead as people still buy them off the VC.
If the first one took Mario back to his roots. This will do that and even more. It’s good to see 2d Mario’s again. Brings back memories. That’s why I like games like NSMB and SPM.

In any case… just remember this is a youtube quality video… Im sure on our TV screens - everything will be much sharper and pretty. Also, stylistically… it kinda HAD to look like “New Super Mario Bros.” (Although… I guess they could have called it a different name a marketed it under a different title allowing for a different style).
I donno… I think the great exclusives on Wii saves it from all the shitty third party games… At least if you are an informed gamer. Also, at least Nintendo games stay exclusive… compared to the 360/PS3 games that usually end up ported to the other. What Nintendo gamers get, they can’t get anywhere else.
Actually, they made it because Miyamoto wanted to do a classic mario brothers game that could deliver Single player game to a 4-player multiplayer group.
Something that (aparently) they couldn’t have been done before. So, in effect, they are making this game because because they have so much money that they can afford to play around a little bit - not because they are losing money.
(That being said, I agree with what you are saying… this seems more like a expansion pack then a new game.)
Well, then I have good news for you my friend. Nintendo 8-bit has been out for 20 years now and it has tons of good games.
Why then not throw your Wii to the garbage and get the Nintendo entertainment system 8-bit. The only console in the world that has innovation, gameplay and total badassness.
Hell, why doesn’t Nintendo scrap Wii and go back to the 8-bit era since we, the Wii owners, doesn’t care about evolution.

I have to say Nintendo is really at the top of their game, I mean sales are off the charts (around 10Mil Wiis, + top for games of ‘09 are wii exclusives) and this and Galaxy 2! Not to mention all the great 3rd party games like Conduit, The Grinder…….I mean you can see Nintendo is really pumping that money back to the consumers by providing these kind of gmes How can you not love nintendo <3 (Not sarcastic)
I have to disagree, nintendo has brought itself back up. If you look at the sales numbers for the wii itself, i think they are around 10mil, plus not to mention that the top 4 selling games of ‘09 were all wii exclusives, it is clear nintendo is at the top of their game. In spite of this though, nintendo has not forgotten about the hardcore nintendo gamers out there. With games like Mario Galaxy (1 + now 2
) and New SMBcomming 2 wii. Not to mention wii has huge 3rd party support.
At least Nintendo E3 2009 conference was a million times better then 2008. Last year was just plain awful!!! This year they actually have games for the hardcore Nintendo fans.

I’m glad they implemented co-op to a Mario Platformer game I always wanted to see that. I remember when co-op would’ve been on the DS version, but was scrapped and was put into this.
