I’m trying to hook up my playstation 3 but the cables that came with it doesn’t work. The sound plays but there is no picture. I tried the sony s video cable and sony component av cable. which cable do I need to get to get the picture to play on a standard tv.

Use the component cables…
Yellow = Video
White/Red = Audio
Once all the cables are in your TV start your PS3. After 30 secounds if you have no picture hold down the power button on the PS3 itself.
Wait a short time hold it down and it will start beeping… let go of the button.
The PS3 will set all it’s setting to the default mode… it should bring up a picture at that time.

If you have a standard TV, you would need RCA (AV) cables which consist of Yellow, Red, and white connectors. Yellow for the video and red and white for left and right speakers (stereo) respectively.
