by GamePlay on October 28, 2009

I received my play station 3 last xmas and it has worked perfectly since then I have watched movies both blue ray and regular and have played games on it. I turned it on today to play my new game and it said I needed a system update i clicked ok and it was at 65% complete with 1 minute to go and it froze. It says not to turn off the system so I don’t know what to do. Help please.

The most common cause of computer freezes is a corrupt registry.
Most likely your registry is bloated and overstuffed with an assortment of useless pieces of data. The operating system while running your computer has to pick its way through all this excess material. There will be bits of programs which were not completely uninstalled, parts of programs which were never completely installed, fragments of miscellaneous data, useless drivers, and a multitude of other bits and pieces.
The answer is to clean your registry and remove all the material which is not needed.http://fix-pc-freezing.com/Clean_Up_Cent…
Get the best one, and completely clean your windows registry with a few clicks of the mouse.
Often there is also spyware which is using your computer for nefarious purposes and slowing its operation.
The answer is to scan your pc with a best anti-spyware to clean spyware/trojan/virus.http://fix-pc-freezing.com/comparison.ht…

Once this happened to me so my only option was turning off the system. When i turned it back on it was somehow working. But usually that would not happen. Your only option is to turn it off and if it stops working, then hope your warranty still covers it.

If your system freezes, then you really don’t have any other option than to turn of the system. Good luck.
