What Do I Need To Buy If I Want A Nintendo Wii?

by GamePlay on August 6, 2009

I want to buy a Nintendo Wii. What do I need to buy (Console, a game etc.) I don’t want to buy all the extra accessories yet, just the basic stuff to get me going so I am able to play games and save them and use Wii Fit and the Balance Board, and also have 2 players able to play at one time.

When you buy the actual wii, you will recieve everything you need to start playing with at least 1 player.
You will receive -
- The wii
- 1 wii remote
- 1 nun chuck (this is a nun chuck) http://www.forgettherest.com/Media/image…
- Wii sports game disc
- Sensor bar, power cable and audio and video cable.
- 1 wii stand to put your wii on.
- 1 wii jacket (this is a wii jacket) http://www.mywii.com.au/img/accessory/la…
To have 2 people able to play at the same time, you will need to buy another wii remote. If you want to play games like 2 player boxing, you will also need to buy another nunchuck.
Wii sports is a partial multiplayer game. You can play multiplayer on all the games but soe of them can be played multiplayer with only 1 remote.
Bowling – 1-4 players. Up to 4 people can play with one remote
Boxing – 1-2 players. You need 1 remote and one nunchuck for each person.
Tennis – 1- 4 players – each player needs 1 remote.
Baseball – 1- 2 players. Each Player needs 1 remote.
Golf – 1-4 players. You can play with 4 players on one remote.
Wii fit includes:
- Wii balance board.
- 4 AA batteries for the balance board.
- Wii fit game disc.
The wii fit is mostly 1 player. Most of the activities just require the balance board but some need the remote (like jogging) and some need the remote and nunchuck (like boxing.)
Those are the only things you need to play the wii with wii fit and wii sports.
I hope this helps and good luck finding a wii!

You need: Money
And: I owuld recoomened getting the Wii package instead of the wii console and then separatley buy that sensor bar and the remotes and separately buy everything else. In the Wii package that I got: It came with: The Conlose, the stand, the remote, the nunchuk, the A/C power cable, the sensor bar, and the Wii Sports Disc. It basically comes with everything you need + the sports game. don’t get packages that comes with the console + thirty other games. waste of money if you don’t like some of the games.

Wii Sports offers five distinct sports experiences: Tennis, Golf, Baseball, Bowling and Boxing.these are available at http://www.blueunplugged.com/p.aspx?p=12… on this site you will get detail information.
The Nunchuk features a comfortable, ergonomic design, a Control Stick, and two buttons. The Nunchuk is motion-sensitive, allowing for another dimension of game control.
you will have to purchase wi fit separatively from http://www.blueunplugged.com/p.aspx?p=12…
wii fit is a game itself which comes with balance board. Wii Fit will include more than 40 types of training activities. Training falls into four fitness categories
• Aerobic Exercise: 10-minute exercises that are designed to get the heart pumping.
• Muscle Conditioning: Controlled motions using arms, legs and other body parts.
• Yoga Poses: Classic poses that focus on balance and stretching.
• Balance Games: Fun activities, such as ski jumping and heading footballs, that challenge the player’s overall body balance.
These exercises provide a “core” workout, a popular exercise method that emphasizes slower, controlled motions.

well okay you can only buy the wii console because it comes with a game. if you want to play with 2 players then you will need to buy another wii controller and a nunchuck (the attachment that goes on the bottom) and you want wii fit so buy wii fit to so over all i would say that the hardest thing to find are the wii console and wii fit
wii console=250$
wiimote=39.99

wii fit=89.99
total=399.97$

1, nintendo wii console with wii sports( controller and nunchuk included)
2,2x nintendo controllers
3,2x nunchuk controllers
4, 1 or 2 multi player games.
total cost = 350 – 400 depending on what games you want
wii fit is almost impossible to get just now but it costs 64.99 , when available in most shops. ps, a battery charger is useful but if you don,t want to buy one of these buy good quality AA batteries. kacky a nunchuck is a controller which you connect to the wii remote to allow you to play with both hands

The basic bundle comes with the console, 1 remote and 1 nun chuck along with the wii sports game.
Extra remotes cost about £30 each, nunchucks about £15, wii fit approx £70 (if you can get it in stock) and games range from about £15 to £40 depending on what you’re after, the better ones are about £35.

You will want the Nintendo Wii + 1 extra controller. You will also need the nunchucks for both controllers for some games (Not all).
The wii allows you to save games to its own hard disk so you dont need any extra memory cards.
Also, You will need to buy the wii fit + balance board seperatly. There are some bundles out there where you can buy the wii fit stuff with the console. Check out http://www.woolworths.co.uk/web/jsp/prod…

wii console
4 in 1 powerstation (half price with console in argos, and it saves on batteries in the remotes)
Wii fit
Spare wii remote
spare nunchuck (you only get one of each with the console)
All this will cost approx £308 if you have an argos card you can get it with 6 months interest free credit

The Wii console comes with a wiimote and nunchuck and also Wii Sports.
You’ll want to buy another Wiimote and nunchuck for the second person to play. Plus a lot of batteries.

The basics are the console (duh), 2 wii remotes, two nun chucks ( they are needed in certain games. That is pretty much it. The Wii comes with Wii Sports and i think one wii remote.

when I got my Wii, I just got the box, an extra remote, and a couple of games. There is a game called Wii play that comes with an extra remote. The game kind of sucks, you’re better off just getting the extra remote. Also, with the exception of the boxing game in wii sports, I have yet to find a need for the second num chuck, so you could probably just not get one and be fine unless you want a shooting game (most of the guns require one) If you get guns, don’t get the big expensive one, get the blaster. It’s easier to hold and play with and half the price.
I have Mario Kart, and it’s a great, great, great game. Everyone loves to play it, and I haven’t gotten tired of it yet. I got an extra wheel, and it is more fun to play with the wheel, but you don’t need it at all, the game plays the same with just the joy stick.
You will have to get the balance board separately also. I’ve seen them at costco for $80 instead of the usual $90. The fit game got kind of old kind of fast, but wii ski is pretty cool, and I’m looking forward to what they will do next with it. I stopped buying games and got a Blockbuster game pass thing so I can play everything. I figure I’ll keep it for a couple of months so I can play the games for a few days each and if I really like them, I’ll buy them.
I LOVE my wii, have fun with it!!
By the way – the sensor bar, plug… all come with the wii wheather you get the rip off package or not. Stores have been selling packages that include a wii so they can charge you over $500 to get one. Don’t spend $500 on that crappy package, get the wii and pick the games you want. You’ll get more for your money and the games you want to play. :)
