Girls who play Video games and read are cool. I play World of Warcraft all the time and love to read. I would say i get more attention from the guys because i do. Do what you have fun doing and don’t let others judge you. Just FYI World of Warcraft is 40% Female players. Female gamers are not as rare as you think.
I really don’t want to be mean, but stop using your likes and dislikes to define you and make people like you.
You’re not some sassy, unique, amazing girl because you play video games etc. Liking those things doesn’t make you special.
I really am not trying to be mean, but once you start using those things to define yourself it will only lead to you becoming jealous when you see other girls who are also like that.
Acting this way also perpetuates stereotypes that MOST girls don’t like video games and action and all that, which is absolute crap. That is not the real world, so who gives a flying **** what people think of girls who like these things? They’re the same as guys who do.
I’m sorry, it just really bothers me when girls are made to feel like they are different just because they like things that are considered ‘boyish’. It just reminds me of the ridiculous stereotypes of gender that encourage inequality.
Do what makes you happy. I can’t think of any guys that wouldn’t like a girl who enjoying playing video games. And if reading is a problem for them, you probably don’t want to date them anyway.
*raises hand* Lord of the Rings fan, movies are my favorite ever… and have been a Lord of the Rings Online gamer since closed beta back in 2006. I even co-admin my kin with my husband. I think it’s fun.

Ya,, I do the same. I read the Harry Potter novels and play the games too. Same with Lord of The Rings
Video games are amazing. I’ve never gone so far as to read their companion novels though.
