Recently i got a ps3 and i wanted to take it online but i do not know how to go about it. I don’t have a computer or anything like that so i don’t know if i need to have a pc in order to connect the ps3 to the internet. Can anyone help me? I want instructions on how to set up everything.

Okay, before you begin to set things up you need to make sure you have what you need to connect to the internet. You do NOT need a computer to connect, but you DO need a high-speed internet connection.
With high-speed internet, you are either connected via a DSL or a Cable connection. The modem is going to have a jack where you can insert an ETHERNET cable. This ethernet cable is usually used to connect your computer to the internet. Depending on where you set up your Playstation 3, there are going to be two ways of connecting to the internet.
1) You could either connect directly through the Ethernet cable, by plugging it into the Playstation 3.
2) Or you could connect it wirelessly without the Ethernet cable. In order to do it wirelessly, you MUST have an extra device called a ROUTER. The router is connected to the ethernet cable. Then the router is able to wirelessly transmit the internet connection to the Playstation 3.
Now, once you have either of these connections set up, you have to go into the Playstation 3 and set up your network. For this part, you just need to follow the on-screen directions.
I recommend doing it wirelessly, it’s easy to do with the PS3

I would recommend that you view the official Playstation 3 tutorial. Go to “us.playstation.com/support”. This the official Playstation website. Then, you should see a link that says “Connecting your Playstation 3 to the Internet.” Click on that and it will give you a video tutorial on how to connect your Playstation 3 to the internet.
no , just get an internet connection and plug directly from your modem
you only need a computer if you use a router to set it up but without a router just connect the cable and set up for a wired connection in network settings
What you should do is buy a wireless router.
then connect it to the phone line.
and connect to the internet with ur ps3.
Thats how i connect to the Playstation Network.
