I have never played Sonic games before (unless you count Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games…) and I’m gonna go to buy some new games for my wii this weekend and thought of buying a couple (like Sonic Unleashed, Sonic and the Black Knight, Sonic and the Secret Rings…)
what is gameplay like on those games? which would you recommend most?

Yeah Dont Buy Anything that came out after Sonic Heroes, The Best Sonic games are for Dreamcast Sega, Which Are Remade into Nintendo Gamecubes Sonic AdventureDX and 2battle, You play as Sonic In High Speed Stages, Its kinda just stage after stage of super fast running and killing eggmans robots! But again you want Sonic DX or 2B
You should try the older ones first because the older ones are simply better. This means everything before 2005 or so.
I would recommend playing Sonic Adventure DX: Director’s Cut for the GameCube first because it introduces all of the main characters and really shows you what the gameplay is like (it’s also my favorite Sonic game). Before Sonic Adventure, there wasn’t any important story or plot in the series. You could also try Sonic Adventure 2: Battle and then Sonic Heroes. If you have a handheld, try Sonic Advance 1-3, Sonic Battle, and Sonic Rush. After Sonic Rush, the games have progressively declined in the gameplay and story aspect.
Sonic and the Secret Rings is still a good game, but doesn’t compare to the ones I’ve listed above. Although Sonic Unleashed is also a good game, the story doesn’t live up to the Adventure series. The gameplay in these two games are quite different.

Sonic adventure DX directors cut (for gamecube) on eBay it’s the best sonic game
well they are alright for a little while but after like an hour they get really boring and repetitive. i wouldnt recommend buying any of the newer one but the older ones are more enjoyable
I really wouldn’t reccommend any. Sonic games have been getting worse and worse….
