for me it would have been pokemon blue version. sure i played video games before but this game is what drove me to be almost addicted to video games. i would play this 8 hours a day nonstop.

Tetris on old monochrome monitor. Sounds funny now, but once it was a very advanced thing. That opened a world of computers and video games for me.

zelda ocarina of time + ff7! I love those games! (I was 7-8)
Then I went off games for a bit, playing them but not as much because I had high expectations for amazing rpgs and no other game would do.
So then Kingdom hearts came along, which in my eyes when I was younger was the ideal video for a girl like me. It even had disney princess. That’s when I was nine years old and ever since then I’d go crazy for a good rpg. I also LOVED pokemon blue (I had that 1 too, even though I picked charamander in the beginning XD)
When the DS came out I almost cried because you can’t fit the gameboy games into them! =[
So I was the only kid using a gameboy advance when everyone else was using DSs XD xoxoxoxox

    Resident Evil 4, surprised?
I would play that game for what I thought was just 2 hours, then I realized I missed dinner. I would always play that game whenever I got the opportunity, it was so addicting. No other game BEFORE that ever got my attention ( besides Super Mario of course), because, I have to admit, I didn’t no anything about good games until I played that ( I made bad decisions in the past). But now, 2 years ago, thanks to Resident Evil 4, I know to distinguish the good from the bad

I guess it was Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat 1 for me.I loved those games.Contra,Mario and 1942 was pretty good.I just took out my old sega and played quackshot just last week. But what really had me addicted to video games was metal gear solid for ps1,I finished the game in one sitting.I bought the game at around 6 pm ,started playing at 7 and finished it around 9 in the morning ,next day.It still is the best I’ve ever played.

The one game that always kept me playing for hours on end were the Mario games ! From the NES to the SNES to the N64, I could never get enough of Mario and it’s the sole reason why I bought a Wii just to download those great old games from Nintendo’s virtual console.
The N64’s Goldeneye is another game that kept me playing for hours !

Captive for the Atari ST. I had played many games, and had such systems as the Coleco Vision (w/ atari adapter) Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC128, but Captive was the first game to get me hook, line and sinker!
Edit - Wow, by the sounds of these answers, it seems I may be the oldest one (Except Bull Goose (sorry to point it out man))

As much as I LOVE the Zelda series, I would have to say Super Mario Brothers 1. It was the game that came with my Nintendo, the first video game system I really owned. It took it from a hobby to a passion.
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was a huge passion as well.

Probably Final Fantasy X or Kingdom Hearts II! Both PS2 games, they rock! I would play for hours! :)
And also, Super Mario 64 and Zelda Oceania of Time! I don’t know if those are the correct names, but I started playing those when I got a N64.

The best video game I’ve ever played and is still my most favorite, is the Jak and Daxter video games for PS2, but I would say the one that most influenced me is the Mortal Combat games for Super Nintendo (:

I still have a double screen video game of Donkey Kong. That one of Mario jumping over the barrels and taking out the hooks to make Donkey Kong fall down… my first videogame.
