I play violent video games once in a while, like Grand Theft Auto. People act like it’s a sin to engage in video game violence. It’s not like I’m going to go out there and do the unthinkable and never will.
I mean, I’m a day dreamer and all I think about is GTA half of the time.
So what’s wrong with Christians playing violent video games once and a while?

My thoughts on this….Christians have had a very violent past so no surprise here. I mean no offense, but just look at the bible stories….
Also considering the state of our social system in the states…I truly hate this fact; however, our society is desensitizing our youth to violence, sex, and rudeness!

Regular exposure to violence depicted on television, in movies, in video games, and on the Internet is said to desensitize the conscience and inspire violent crimes. In a school shooting where 15 people were killed, the two student perpetrators were said to have spent hours each day playing violent video games. Violent video games are not for true Christians.
People who want to be Jehovah’s friends “beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears.” Instead of learning to love violence, they do not “learn war anymore,” physically or otherwise. (Isaiah 2:4) To remain God’s friend rather than become his enemy, we must “turn away from what is bad and do what is good.” We need to “seek peace and pursue it.” 1 Peter 3:11.
Because you’re responsible for what goes into your head via your eyes and ears. You’re responsible for what thoughts you dwell on. If you’re “playing” a game that focuses on crime, which is sinful behavior, do you think God’s OK with that? Seriously?

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, keep your thoughts on whatever is right or deserves praise: things that are true, honorable, fair, pure, acceptable, or commendable.
I know it’s hard to accept this sometimes, because we love our movies and music and video games; but you need to decide who you live for; yourself or God?
I am not Christian, but a GTA fan. Depending on how old you are, they may be problems. Since you don’t mention age, I will just assume you are an adult.
Being a little obsessed when you get a new game is natural. If you’ve had it for a while, you need to make sure you are balancing your life.
Having said that, I was raised Christian, and remember something about sinful thoughts & a sinful heart. Gaming may fall under that, it may also fall under the concept of having too much free time means you aren’t devoting enough to the Church & god. Ask you reverend, preacher, priest, or whatever.
My only problem with people that profess to be any religion is how much time do you spend playing video games versus the amount of time you actually spend praying, worshiping, spreading your faith to others, etc.
It’s easy to say you are “blank” religion, your actions day to day say otherwise.
it will be harsh to call someone a sinner just by playing violent games.. but one cannot deny the bad influence that a game can give to someone.. expecially to a teenager.. imagine u are playing a game that swears a lot.. u will eventually find swearing harmless and therefore using it yourself… in game u may also see nudity… when one see too many, they think it;s harmless to see… so playing video games may blind one’s judgement… but i will say only to those game addict who play 23 hours a day … hope u not like that… christian rocks!

There is nothing wrong with it at all. That’s like being limited to non-violent movies. I’m a Christian too but I will not sit around and watch G rated Disney movies and E rated video games.

There is not a trace of historical evidence that any of these stories ever happened or that Moses ever existed outside of the Bible and that over 2,000,000 Jews agreed on the spot to leave Egypt, but what the heck!

They even want to force all our kids in public schools to read the Bible and pray to this wanking God! All the preachers know what needs to be discarded and ignored of the Bible to make a living out of Christian gullibility! It is amazing the brainwashing that Christians developed over the centuries to totally ignore all this smut in their Bible!
MOSES IS HIGHLY HONORED FOR BETRAYING and slaughtering his Midianite friends and relatives, but then God gets mad at Moses because he struck a piece of rock twice instead of once so God wouldn’t let him set foot on the PROMISED LAND and made him die before reaching his final destination! The Bible writers were plesurizing themselves like mad writing these stories in the Bible about killing everybody in the region of Palestine were slaughtered including gays, pregnant women and children, but God wouldn’t tolerate that Moses strike a piece of rock twice! (Talking about “values” with God!) To add some more drama to the story, the Bible writers say that the Archangel Saint Michael and the Devil were tearing Moses body apart on a fetish of some sort! (Jude 1:9)
Christians must be totally void of valid moral values to believe all these obscene stories in the Bible! That’s probably why most Christians buy the Bible but hardly read it! They pay their tithes (10%) to their preachers to tell them what Christianity ought to be all about! Can you imagine a revised XXX rated EXODUS movie telling the whole Exodus story, but literally following the whole Bible script? Christians still love the Bible God the same way the Nazis loved Hitler…! History repeats itself and Christians that are so brainwashed now with “Jesus” will eventually drop the Bible with all its obscene fairy tales the same way the Germans dropped Hitler!

Umm… if 50% of your time is spent daydreaming about GTA, you might have a problem no matter what religion you are.
