When Using Fraps To Record Video Footage, Gameplay, Or Anything Else On My Computer, I Get Lag..?

by GamePlay on October 13, 2009

To answer anyone’s question right now…
I got one freakin’ powerful computer.
Windows Vista Home Premium
NVIDIA Geforce 7950 GT
Computer is running off of a Dual-Core Processor from AMD
3070 MB of Ram
The problem I’m having is that when I play a game like World of Warcraft for example, the game itself runs exceptionally smooth, but when I turn on FRAPS, it completely begins to lag up. It gets really choppy in other words. It never used to do that and I’m not sure what’s causing the problem. Any ideas?

Try closing other programs running in the background and shown in your Startup. Try closing things like Anit-virus programs, messaging programs, network monitors, firewall programs, etc. All of these take of RAM that could be used to run your Fraps. Perhaps you installed something that is running in the background, and that’s why it used to work ok.
