TOUGH!!!
here is what I believe it boils down to…
Wii – sub-par graphics to todays standards, great multiplayer games available, a more “fun” system good for all ages. if young kids playing, great for them because games are generally G – PG13 rating on the Wii. it is a different style all together adding to a vast array of game play options such as boxing, bowling, etc. the downside is that it can quickly get boring to any regular use player or any single player. so… if kids, or many players, or budget, or for “fun” get wii… hard to find in
stores and price is now (due to xbox price drop) only considered “fair”.
in addition to being difficult to find, key games are also always in short of supply (the reason for short supply is GREATLY GREATLY believed to be the strategy of supply and demand, keep supply down=keep demand up, =not cool)
PS3 – best graphics available and doubles as a Blue ray player. This system is for the advanced player. If you want serious online playing, want great single player games, want more mature games or story lines or less “cartoonish/childish” games or if you want sports games, Playstation is your system. Furthermore, if you are also in the market for a Blue Ray player or want to get a blue ray player down the road, consider a PS3, at 499 it will save you from having to buy a game system and blueray and save space on your compenent rack. downside is that its game titles variety is still limited, that it generally isnt a child friendly system, and that it is the most expensive.
xBox360 – most popular… they are easily available at any store, theier graphics are exceptional to todays standards. Games generally range for kids 12 and older and older. Great list of number one games. Downside is that it has a long and bad history of defects. system does not support Blueray playback and system is made by microsoft. Price is good though.
so… there ya go….
pick wisely…
or say eFF it and get all 3!

There is no best overall console.
Every console has its strengths and weaknesses, and it depends on your personal taste, what is important for you.
Gameplay wise, the Wii has a big lead compared to the two other consoles, thanks to the movement controls with the Wii Remote.
This makes gaming extremely fun. You can invite friends, turn on the Wii and even with the most basic games, you will have more fun than with Xbox and PS3 together combined.
However, the Wii is graphically and technically the weakest console. BUT! That doesn’t mean the graphics are bad. If you only own a standard TV, just load up Metroid Prime Corruption, and you will see no difference in graphics compared to a Halo 3 for example, when played on a standard TV.
Graphically, the Xbox 360 takes the lead, thanks to an enormuous amount of memory bandwith in the graphics hardware.
You don’t see it in current games, but the programmers often struggle to get the same quality graphics on the PS3 to look the same as on the Xbox 360.
Basically, you can take this decision graph as a good tool to find your “best” console:
Do you have friends?
.|
+—-> No —> Get the PS3.
.|
Yes
.|
Real or internet friends?

+—> Internet —> Get the Xbox 360.

Get the Wii.
me.
We used to be die hard Sony fans. Not anymore, the 360 is the best all around console. We have all 3 systems. My husband is a gamer and we have 5 kids that range in age from 6 months to 18 years old. 360 is the best for everyone. Most games, most versatility, great graphics. Have fun with your new system which ever one you choose. As far as PS3 goes there aren’t many good games for it and the only really good games they released solely for it were MGS4 and Drakes uncharted, everything else you can get for the 360.
bonny
playstation 3 ’cause its the newest and the best games yet to be created will probably belong to PS3 area.
plus final fantasy and rock band are games for the PS3 console
the oh so popular games ;D
