I am going to buy my boyfriend a PS3 on Friday for christmas. I have been to Best Buy twice and asked this question and I was told that the 80g cannot play PS2 games and the 40g can, but I have heard the vice versa as an answer as well. So my question is, which one is correct? $100 difference is a lot, so I would like to know which one I should buy, Thanks!

40GB PS3: Will NOT play any PS2 games. It will play PS1 games.
60GB PS3: Will play 98% of PS2 games. It will play PS1 games.
80GB PS3: Will play something like 70-80% of the PS2 games. It will play PS1 games.
There is a catch… Sony stopped production of the 60GB PS3. It will be HARD to find one as people are realizing that it is the best model.
You can play all PS2 games on the 20GB and 60GB PS3.
The 80GB PS3 can play most PS2 games
and the 40GB PS3 can NOT play PS2 games.
Thats false.I own a 80GB PS3 and it plays all my PS2 games but the 40GB PS3 can not play PS2 games.
