Every time someone shoots up a school or kills themselves they blame it on Music or Video games?
Did it ever occur to you Conservative Christians that maybe those sick stories in the Old Testament could have driven a disgruntled teenager to shoot up a school or how you have a perfect Kingdom waiting for you after death could have affected some lonely kid with a cynical view on life to kill himself or herself?

it’s the liberals who think this way—-not conservatives—-perhaps if more beings would attend church—-this country’s crime rate would drastically decline—
They tend to blame the main media because if you have not noticed the increase of violence has followed a decrease in censorship of what people view on to or listen to on the radio….makes one think now doesn’t it…the more you make an act normalized the easier it is to accept and do…
May you be blessed.
I laughed at the above person who blamed liberals. Sorry, but it’s those whole blame music and video games for taking kids away from church, and thus “making” them shoot up a school or something.
No one takes blame, because parents are too stupid to take the blame. it’s their fault when it turns out that way.
Like bender from futurama says;
“Most, if not all the blame, rests the with parents. Yes you! Did you ever try turning off the TV, sitting down with your kids, and hitting them?”
Responded by “But we’re just so busy…”
In which Bender responds with “Then make time!”
its the easiest thing to blame now a days, NO ONE wants to look at the SAD mourning perants of the “disturbed” kids that did it, they want to blame the companies that actually gave the kid a way to take out some of the frustration…but yeah, who wants to take responsibilty for their own kid???it would make toooo much sence…and im NOT christian, but the bible DOES say that if you murder or kill yourself you will go to hell, so i dont think that its the bible either….although the scripture can be double sided sometimes…i hope i was helpfull
i’m REALLLY sick of people like you always blaming things on christians. people decide to kill others or shoot up a school is based on THEIR decisions, not others. maybe you need to stop judging and realize that people are responsible for the choices THEY make.
Or maybe through existentialism, a kid decided there was no point because the life he was making for himself was cra|p, and decided to end it?
I blame guitar hero, since it’s BOTH music and games. The music is not of God.
Kids should only play Guitar Praise.
Bitter?
I don’t think it is Christians that blame music and video games. I think that is the media who have to cover complex social issues in soundbites.
Video games and music today have murder that is glamorized. Young people get inspired to kill from those games and that kind of music.
Those kids you are talking about have never opened up a bible so you can’t blame the Bible on that. those computer games is what is creating young mass murderers. We are raising home grown terrorists from a very young age. The Bible is not to blame.

Open your eyes, it’s not just music and video games…
It could be ANYTHING. Any form of media, material, etc that is a portal for satan and his army to gain access to your life.
It could start by watching a ‘harmless’ movie, then developing a ‘curiosity’ about oh, let’s say, witchcraft. It’s a slippery slope from there. I’m sure you get the picture. And there are multiple different scenarios.
Everyone experiences different dealings with demonic forces, and they access our lives through almost anything that may appear ‘harmless’.
Be very careful what you do, watch, and listen to. The enemy is always ready and looking for opportunities to destroy you…by any means necessary.
Because people are too lazy to take responsibily for their own actions. And you can get a lot of money if you win a law suit.
Humans have to blame someone, it’s just the way we operate.
I don’t blame musicians or video games.
I blame the idiot parents who let their kids get away with crap instead of actually DISCIPLINING them.
‘Cause, y’know, God forbid their little darlings go without name brand clothes and shoes and all the latest fashions and all the spending money they could ever want and all their physical desires fulfilled and how awful it would be for them to actually have to use the store brand instead and do chores and learn what REAL life is.
And, y’know, God forbid kids be given a spiritual upbringing with morals, and really, what kind of terrible person would suggest that a child’s feelings be allowed to be hurt by losing a game of football or baseball or soccer, or by not being allowed certain privleges when they misbehave? I mean, that’s just abusive to children!
All sarcasm aside, yes, I blame the parents. The parents of the children who are bullies for teaching their children that kind of behavior, and the parents of the children who are being bullied and don’t feel they can go to their parents for giving their children the impression that they’re too busy to listen to their problems.
I sincerely hope that if my child ever bullies another child, the parents and the school talk to me about it so I can punish my child, and that if my child is ever bullied, my child, at least, can talk to me about it so I can take care of the problem and stop the bullying before it escalates.
I speak, of course, as a former bullied child myself who might have been one of those shooters if I hadn’t been able to go to my parents and teachers, and who was never affected by the Old Testament stories, or the New Testament, for that matter, in any negative manner.
This would apply to Music and Video games to SOME extent
It provides great temptation to sin
It robs children of their innocence
It desensitizes
It mesmerizes and feeds the subconscious
It corrupts our values
It promotes rebellion
It has a political agenda
It creates a citizenry of “groupthinkers”
It creates perceived needs
It creates godless heroes
It makes the viewer partners to sin
It gives instruction on bad behavior
It promotes godless problem solving
It creates a false view of reality
It fuels the imagination with negative images
It teaches a “no consequence” lifestyle
It breeds unreal fear
It promotes mistrust and cynicism
It feeds self-centeredness and self-indulgence
It breeds intolerance of deprivation and moderation
It destroys the attention span
It creates learning disabilities
It creates an appetite for entertainment
It destroys creativity
It hinders the reasoning process
It creates artificially induced stress
It promotes violent behavior
It breaks down interpersonal communication
It promotes materialism and greed
It desensationalizes miracles
It feeds the desire for supernatural and occult power
It can be habit-forming
It is addictive in nature
It is damaging to our physical health
It damages self-esteem
It offers escape from reality and responsibility
It promotes an unnatural curiousity to sex
It is a Gov’t tool to make you conform
It is a waste of time–”IT” is your television
When you realize the power of words in music and violent images in video games, you’ll see why they blame those things on the psyche.
