My sims 2 keeps crashing after I play it for about 15-20 mins. It worked normally ever since I got it.. but recently any kind of pc game that I play crashes after about 15 mins. The screen just goes black and it goes back to the desktop. No error message or anything.. I have a brand new computer so I know everything is up-to-date..considering it worked fine for a year. Anyone know what is causing the problem?
I remember I had the first Sims and it was a file in the wrong place that kept causing the game to crash.

have you run a virus check lately?
run the clean disk program and clean up old files
then run defrag
a spy-ware program
then reboot and see what happens
because it is happening with other games I would think that the Sims 2 in not the culprit.
The aliens did it.
It happened to me aswell than I got a computer guy to re thing my computer and it worked on so maybe it s your computer or take it back to the store u bought it from and tell them whatx wrong

My computer does that! The only thing I can think of is maybe you have too many graphics on it? Or the graphics card isn’t strong enough. The memory could just be full. Though if it’s a new computer then it shouldn’t do that. I’m sorry I don’t have a better answer, just wanted to let you know you’re not the only one!! I sympathize :0)! Good luck!
Most common diagnosis would be driver issues or overheating.
Make sure you have the latest Video Card drivers. Also, download a temperature software (like motherboard monitor) and look at the cpu temperature. If its get too hot at Load, it will shut down like that.
Open the case and use some canned air to blow out the dust.
Overheating can cause application failure.
Also you should consider going to your command prompt and running
CHKDSK c: /r
It will check your hard drive for errors.
that happened to me too,could be the video card. or memory. to play TS2 requires a lot of free space and a very good graphic card.
