   Sony hasn’t confirmed a price drop but there is a possibility it will. If there IS a price drop, then yes, it will be very hard to find. If you want to buy a PS3 cheap you can go on ebay, or amazon. The PS3’s are kind of hard to find right now, depending on the day/week you go to the store.

   No price drop. They are just upgrading the existing models for the same price like the 40GB which is now 80GB for the same price of 40GB. You can wait for the new 160GB in Oct for $499 or just grab the new 80GB now and save it for xmas. DEFINITELY, it will be hard to find on xmas. It may come back again in March.
   You’re a cool dad man. Your son would surely be very happy!

   Please do not listen to the people suggesting 360s. They do not have a wider variety of games, just old games that are also on the PS2. And the 360 has less exclusives coming out now only Gears 2 and Fable 2 the biggest. While the PS3 is not getting a price cut (who knows) It will be getting a Uncharted game bundle with high memory and a Littlebigplanet game bundle. Please say how old is your son because Uncharted is great but for teens while LBP is great all around. I’m sure your son will be happy this Christmas if he finds one of these bundles under the Christmas tree =)

   Sony has no plans of lowering the prices of their PS3s Before the holiday season. I would suggest either try your luck and wait to buy it around Christmas and hope there are some left. Or Honestly I would seriously consider the Xbox360, its cheaper and there is a wider variety of games. But if you are bent on buying a PS3 buy one now. like the 40GB.

   There are no palns for a price cut, thoughthe 40GB was recently upgraded to a 80GB model for hte same price.
   an 160GB bundle wiht Uncharted nad PAIN will be coming out in october(£400/$500), and a 80GB LitleBigPlanet bundle( which i woud suggest grabiing) will be out in october too(£300/$400)
   It would be safe to assume as it gets closer to Xmas there will be less n less console’s, especially with the wii.

   nope. sony has confirmed that there will not be price drops, but they have said that there will be new bundles out.
   Considering a bundle is usually over priced, theres really no point in waiting.

   yea probaly cause they just dropped the xbox another $50 to $300 and thats sony competition so proably. id get him an xbox
